What is Aetherbound?

Plays like Commander

Same deck construction, same game rules: 100 cards including your commander, singleton, color identity, 40 life, 21 commander damage. If you know Commander, you already know how to play.

Built from Magic's own sets

A card is legal if it was printed in a set that was Standard legal at some point, or in one of the sets released before Standard existed (Alpha through Fallen Empires). Where else it's been reprinted doesn't matter.

No Universes Beyond

Every Universes Beyond card is out, including the ones from Standard-legal UB sets like Final Fantasy and Spider-Man. Aetherbound stays in Magic's own worlds.

No power creep from outside Standard

Cards designed straight into supplemental products (Modern Horizons, Masters sets, Commander precons, Secret Lair) never enter the pool, so the card pool stays grounded in cards that were tested in Standard.
